

He was a resident of Iowa for 41 years where he raised his three children. Rodger was the Vice President of Hockenberg-Rubin Company for 24 years and then the proud owner for 13 years of Scruffy's Deli and Pizza Restaurant. Rodger was an avid Iowa Hawkeyes and Pittsburgh Steelers fan and was active in coaching youth sports and served as President of the Catholic Football League.
He moved with this wife Judy in 2012 to Waynesboro, after retiring from a successful career as a Retail Sales Representative for Kellogg’s Company. His love of the history and beauty of the Shenandoah Valley led him to volunteer as a Travel Counselor for the Waynesboro Visitors Center. Rodger was also an active member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church where he served as an Usher and Counter, as well as a Volunteer for Meals on Wheels.
Survivors include his high school sweetheart and wife of 49 years Judy Lecocq, children; a daughter Michelle Cortlandt (Robert) of Iowa, two sons Brian Lecocq (Carolyn Lecocq) of New Jersey and David Lecocq of Iowa, nine grandchildren; Alex Lecocq, Logan Lecocq, Samantha Lecocq, Sean Cortlandt, Jaydn Cortlandt, Meadow Lecocq, Isiah Lecocq, Victoria McNulty-Lecocq and Aster McNulty-Lecocq. His family and friends will miss him greatly.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his two brothers Louis and Robert Lecocq.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am Friday August 1, 2014 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church by Father Rolo Castillo.
Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday, July 31, 2014 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes.
