
Born April 5, 1920 in Hopewell, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late George and Bertie Bridge of Staunton.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Rockwell Harris and sister, Shirley Smith.
Mrs. Harris was a member of Mt. View Mennonite Church for many years.
Ruby worked at Wayne Manufacture where she met her husband, Rockwell. She later retired from EI DuPont of Waynesboro. Ruby loved to quilt and crochet with many of her neighbors and friends.
Survivors include cousin, Marvin Henderson of Lyndhurst; three nieces, Debbie Smith of Smith Mt. Lake, Carol Miles of Maine and Dianna Harris Pittman of Staunton, who was also the Godchild of Ruby and Rockwell; seven nephews, Dale Smith of Smith Mt. Lake, Ben, Tommy, and Doug Harris of Richmond, James Hamilton of Pennsylvania, George Harris of Burke and Tim of Asheland; sister-in-law, Martha Harris Hamilton of Portland, Maine.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, September 3, 2011 at Mt. View Mennonite Church Cemetery with Pastor Earl Monroe officiating.
There will be no formal visitation but friends and family may call at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 618 W. Main Street, from 11:00 A.M. until 5:00 P.M. on Friday, September 2, 2011.
