Shannon was born in Killeen, TX to Ronald L. Combs and Marilyn (Mejia) Combs on June 7th, 1972, and graduated from Stuarts Draft High School after moving to Virginia. Shannon worked for Quick Lane and several local dealerships before purchasing and running Shamrock Tire and Auto in Waynesboro for the past four years. A true lover of everything automotive, Shannon could usually be found either working on, or showing cars while not at work. He also enjoyed camping, spending time with his grandson and loving on his family, who he always took good care of. He was a dedicated supporter of the Augusta County Sheriff's Dept, and Camp Light.
Shannon was preceded in death by his mother, Marilyn Mejia.
Shannon is survived by his beloved wife of 12 years, Susan F. Combs; his son, Brent Ingram (Natalia Soltero); his father, Ron Combs (Lisa Scott); a sister, Shayla Branch (Keith); and his grandson, Warren Ingram. He is also survived by his nephews, Kyle Branch (Abbey), and Dakota Branch (Maureen); his great nephew, Hayes; and his good friends, Greg, Jess and Seth Taylor; Jeff and Tammy Estes; Andy and Lisa Boyd; and his faithful friend and shop manager, Jess Coffey. Lastly, Shannon is survived by his feline sidekicks, Ty, Bear and Nena.
A funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, October 15th, 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes with Chaplain Stephen Henderson officiating. Burial will follow at Augusta Memorial Park, Waynesboro.
Pallbearers will be Greg Taylor, Seth Taylor, Jeff Estes, Dakota Branch, Kyle Branch, Brent Ingram, Ron Combs and Keith Branch.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 14th, 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes.
In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations in Shannon's memory to Camp Light, or Cat’s Cradle.
The family requests that anyone attending the funeral service dress in green (Shannon’s favorite color) and bring their classic cars.
