

Sharon was born in Schenectady, NY to Muriel E. (Lahah) Pitcher and Vandemore Pitcher on May 26th, 1952. After moving to Virginia, Sharon worked several jobs while raising her family, retiring from the Animal Hospital of Stuarts Draft after 15 years. Sharon had a deep love for animals, especially her cats, and loved to travel and spend time at the beach.
In addition to her parents, Sharon was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harold Coffey.
Sharon is survived by her son, John Howard and wife Kris of Waynesboro; her sister, Vanessa Harner of Staunton; her “bonus” grandsons, Cooper Bednarczyk and Devin Johnson; as well as her nephew, Berk Harner and wife Lilly; and their children, Stuart Harner and Evan Harner. Lastly, she is survived by her canine sidekick, Duke and her feline partners in crime, Ebony and Ciera.
A funeral service will be conducted on Friday, May 9th, 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes with Pastor Billy Coffey officiating.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 8th, 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes.
