Shirley Ann (Wade) Wilkins

Shirley Ann (Wade) Wilkins, 79, of Fishersville, passed away on Sunday, October 18, 2020 at the Shenandoah House. She was born in Staunton on October 7, 1941, a daughter of the late Andrew Lyle and Beulah (Dunaway) Wade. Shirley worked as a homemaker most of her life. She was a member Fishersville Baptist Church. Spending time with her family and friends was one of her favorite hobbies. Shirley will be remembered for being a good neighbor and friend to those who surrounded her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Michael “Mike” Wilkins and her in-laws, Lawrence D. and Mary Alma Wilkins. Survivors include her children, Tony Wilkins and Penny Sager; sister-in-law, Tamara F. Wilkins; grandchildren: Dana Cash, Andrew Wilkins, and Karlye Sager; four great grandchildren; her lifelong friend, Janet “Sis” Arndt; as well as extended family and friends. Following Shirley’s wishes, all services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Shirley’s memory to the Augusta Health Foundation, Hospice of the Shenandoah, PO Box 1000, Fishersville VA 22939.
