Tina Mae Perry, 57, of Steeles Tavern, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, September 28, 2022. She was born in Waynesboro, VA, March 27, 1965, a daughter of Donald C. and Ellen M. (Persinger) Perry. A Special Olympics athlete, Vector Industries employee and music fan, she was an inspiration to her family and many friends.
A graduate of Wilson Memorial High School, she was employed for more than twenty-two years at Vector Industries in Waynesboro, where she assembled innumerable Reynolds Wrap packages and Parker hunting bows, was a member of the safety committee and was celebrated as employee of the month multiple times. She was an awarded Special Olympics athlete in bowling, running and walking events. She loved dancing, music, reading comic books, authentic southern sweet tea, riding in boats and fast cars. She had a wonderful sense of humor. Energetic and outgoing, she was always on the go and charmed every room she entered.
Tina was preceded in death by her parents.
She will always be remembered by her brother and sister-in-law, Ron and Tammy Perry; her nephew and niece-in-law, Jay and Jacklyn Perry; her nephew, Andy Perry; and her grand-niece, Evelyn Perry. Tina is also survived by her aunts and uncles, Ralph and Martha Perry, Norma Jean Lindsay, and Helen Persinger. Tina was lovingly cared for by Bonnie and Jeff Puckett of Steeles Tavern, along with their children and grandchildren.
The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to Aunt Martha Perry, to Valley Community Services Board, and to the Puckett family for making her a part of their family for more than three years. Special thanks also to the caring staff at UVA Health University Hospital and Augusta Health Hospice of the Shenandoah.
A graveside service will be conducted at Augusta Memorial Park, Tuesday October 4 at 11am. All who plan to attend are asked to meet directly at the cemetery.
There will be no formal viewing or visitation at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Tina’s memory to Vector Industries, Waynesboro, VA.
