

Tommy Lee “Pawpaw” Mayo, 69, of Fishersville passed away Thursday, February 4, 2016 at the University of Virginia Medical Center. He was born in Augusta County on December 20, 1946, a son of the late Clyde Sr. and Fannie Mae Henderson Mayo.
Tommy worked as a sales manager for Flowers Baking Company. He greatly enjoyed gambling, traveling to the beach and shopping. Tommy was an avid Redskins and NASCAR fan. Most of all, Tommy was a family man, he showed true unconditional love to everyone.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Clyde “Junior” Mayo Jr. and Edith Fretwell. Survivors include his loving wife of 44 years, Barbara C. Mayo; two sons, Scott Mayo and his wife, Lori and Tommy Weade and his wife, Pam; two daughters, Carol and Jennifer Mayo; seven grandchildren, C.T. Weade and his wife, Sarah, Paige Hensley and her husband, Timmy, Taylor Weade, Michael Mullins and his wife, Amanda, Cameron Jarrell, Austin Mayo, and Kayla Floriano; six great grandchildren, Leah, Mason, and Kyndal Weade, Alexis Hensley, Devin and Kaleena Mullins; brother, Buddy Mayo and Linda; half-brother, Rodney Johnson; brothers-in-law, Chet Coffey and Jake Coffey and his wife, Karen; sister-in-law, Vanessa Mayo; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
A funeral service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m., Sunday, February 7, 2016 at Cornerstone of Augusta, 1156 Tinkling Spring Rd, Staunton, VA 24401, with Pastor Greg Mayo officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
A graveside service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Monday, February 8, 2016 at Calvary United Methodist Church Cemetery, 2179 Stuarts Draft Hwy, Stuarts Draft, VA 24477.
