

Tony Mark Herring, Sr., 51, of Greenville, passed away on Sunday December 2, 2012 at his residence.
Mr. Herring was born on July 27, 1961 in Charlottesville and was a son of Leo Thomas Herring and the late Barbara Ann Carper Herring. He was a member of the Hardware Baptist Church in Charlottesville, and was also a former member of the Charlottesville Moose Lodge #1028 and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles #680. He loved riding horses and going fishing. Mr. Herring was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to many.
On April 6, 1996 he married the former Regina Robertson, who survives.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Herring is survived by two sons, Tony M. Herring, Jr., and wife Heather of Greenville, Mark Cheverz of Florida; three daughters, Pamela Koczan and husband Jimmy of Palmyra, Candace Lively of Earlysville, Amber Herring of Buckingham; stepson Eric Mason and wife Amanda of Staunton; six brothers, Trent Herring and wife Amy of Waynesboro; Thomas Herring Jr., and Lisa of Skyler, Pete Pompper and wife Angie of Shipman, Scott Pompper of Lynchburg, Christopher Herring of Scottsville, Richard Pompper and wife Joyce of Madison Heights; two sisters, Sharona Foley and husband Jason of Skyler, Tammy Payne and husband John of Goochland, eleven grandchildren, and his stepmother, Bertha Herring.
A celebration of life service will be held on Friday December 7, 2012 at 2 PM at Hardware Baptist Church in Albemarle County. Burial will be held privately and at a later date.
