On a Saturday in April the 13th to be exact in 1940, a daughter was born to Dennis Wayne Fisher of Calf Mountain and Margaret Virginia (Fisher) Fisher of Afton Mountain. That daughter’s name, Vida Alberta Fisher, would describe her presence on earth.
She lived a vigorous life with her siblings. She always talked about growing up on Calf Mountain and how they would pick berries and walnuts as children and sell them to people visiting the area. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Louise Fisher Huffman and Nellie Fisher Morris; and brothers, Hawthorne, Franklin, and Vastine Fisher. Vida is survived by her sister, Alice Fisher Sensabaugh; brothers, Wayne Fisher and wife, Anne and Carl Fisher; and honorary brother and cousin, Bo Fisher. She attended and graduated from Wilson High School and from there moved to Northern Virginia where she met her husband, John Reinmiller, who preceded her in death in 1967 in the line of duty as a Fairfax County Police Officer. This event led her to buy her home in Grottoes, Va on the corner of Sixth and Holly Avenue to raise her son in a safe community of special neighbors (Bennie and Barb Teeter, Roland and Dot Miller, Percy and Mary Wonderly and Paul and Pat Self), along with her mother, siblings and their spouses.
In addition to her siblings, she leaves behind her son, Anthony (Tony) Wayne Reinmiller and daughter-in-law, Teresa; grandsons, Christopher Reinmiller and wife, Chelsea and Jared Reinmiller. She also leaves behind three great-grandchildren, Isiah, Hadley, Shiloh and soon to be Olive Louise Reinmiller. In addition to her family whom she shared playing softball on Sundays in the park, family gatherings playing music and attending Glen Kirk Presbyterian Church, she leaves behind another love in her life of 39 years, Earl Alt and his son, David, and his family, Robin, Victoria, and Skyler. She loved life to the fullest and cherished her entire family (which are too many to list with cousins, nieces and nephews but you know who you are and thanks for your love and support.)
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 24, 2021 at Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 618 W. Main St., Waynesboro.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 25, 2021 at the funeral home with Pastor Merle Fisher and Pastor Danny Fisher officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Kirk Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Waynesboro.
Active pallbearers will be Jackie Fisher, Dennis Fisher, Todd Fisher, David Alt, David Allen, and Jeff Miller. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Maybush, Michael Huffman, and Tony Dooms.
Now she can fly high and really enjoy eternal life.
The family would like to thank the entire staff at the beautiful Regency at Augusta and Blue Ridge Hospice for assisting in her care and comfort.
