Born January 20, 1952 in Waynesboro, she was a daughter of the late Grover Cleveland and Lillie Ellen (Landrum) Johnson.
Affectionately known to her grandchildren and friends of the family as “Memaw,” Wanda was a devoted mother and grandmother. She cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren and could always be found supporting them in the stands at ball games or proudly listening at band concerts. Wanda had a genuine love for people and found great joy in socializing and opening her home to others. During the summer months, her pool became a place of laughter, joy, and treasured memories, and she never missed an opportunity to host a holiday cookout or celebrate a birthday.
Wanda was employed by Berrang GM-Chrysler Dealership for more than 40 years, serving faithfully as office manager. After a brief retirement, she returned to work part-time and later full-time with Charlie Obaugh Chevrolet. Throughout her career, Wanda was known for her dedication, professionalism, and reliability.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Beverly Johnson.
Survivors include her two daughters, Cristi Abshire and husband, Cory of Waynesboro, and Megan Demastus and husband, Christopher of Waynesboro; grandchildren, Kaylin Brooke Arroyo and husband, Josh, Lilly Brooke Demastus, Caden Ella Demastus, Ash Sweet “Pendy” Demastus, and Avery Page Abshire; two great-grandsons, Ryker Wayne Arroyo and Kolter Dean Arroyo; brothers, Grover C.D.
