William P. Daves

He was born August 4, 1931 in Atlanta, Georgia, a son of the late Joel T. Sr., and Mary Peeples Daves.

Mr. Daves was a member of First Presbytereian Church of Staunton and retired from the former C & P Telephone Company.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis B. Daves.

Survivors include his four daughters, Sharon McGhee and husband, Larry of Waynesboro, Karon Faircloth and husband, Frank of North Carolina, Vicki Whitlock and husband, James of Stuarts Draft and Mary Lisa Lang of Charlottesville; son, William S. Daves and wife, Val of Waynesboro; brother, Joel T. Daves, lll of Florida; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Friday, June 7, 2013 at Augusta Memorial Park by Dr. Richard Dietrich.

Family members and active pallbearers are asked to assemble at the funeral home on the day of the service at 10:30 AM to ride in procession to the cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be William S. Daves, Frank Brown, Richard Kirkland, Larry McGhee, Randall Adkins and Paul Ellington.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Thursday at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 618 W Main St., Waynesboro.
