William was born in Afton to Edgar G Lane and Bloomer M Lane on September 13th, 1931. He worked as a Lab Technician for DuPont for 32 years and was an experienced barber. William was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the Army from 1952 to 1954. After his family, his greatest love was the outdoors, enjoying hunting, fishing and gardening.
In addition to his parents, William is preceded in death by a brother, Elton Lane; and two sisters, Margaret Williams and Yvonne Kobus.
William is survived by his beloved wife, Nellie Lane; a son, William G Lane and wife Jenni of Wingina and a daughter, Amanda Lane and husband Michael of Afton. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Dakota Moser and wife Tiffany of Afton, Emma Lane, Kristin Morris, Christopher Godlewski as well a great-grandson, Walker.
