
She was born April 16, 1927 in Waynesburg, a daughter of the late George William Cross and Isa Minnie Roupe Cross.
She was married to Orville Tharp who died March 3, 1999.
Mrs. Tharp had worked as a waitress at the Union Restaurant and Myrtle’s Town House in Waynesburg.
She resided most of her life in Waynesburg and for a few years lived in Cleveland, Ohio.
She was a long-time member of the Washington Street United Methodist Church in Waynesburg, and was active in the Waynesburg Senior Citizens Center.
Mrs. Tharp enjoyed quilting, reading, and word puzzles.
Surviving are two sons, Jerry Tharp (Lou) of Brooklyn, Ohio and Martin Tharp (Linda) of Cleveland, Ohio; two grandchildren, Tressa Tharp and Jerah Tharp (Jamie).
She was the last of her immediate family. Deceased are three brothers and one sister.
Private services will be held in Behm Funeral Homes Inc., 182 West High St., Waynesburg, followed by interment in Greene County Memorial Park. In llieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Waynesburg Senior Citizens Center.
