Barbara J. Welsh

She was born November 15, 1942 in Washington, a daughter of the late Elizabeth Carlisle.

On September 27, 1997 she married Richard A. Welsh Sr., who survives.

Mrs. Welsh had worked as a housekeeper at the Ramada Inn in Las Vegas, Nevada. She had also worked as a dishwasher for the Union Grill in Washington.

She resided in Nemacolin since 2002 where she assisted with fundraising events for the Nemacolin Volunteer Fire Company. She enjoyed playing bingo.

Surviving in addition to her husband are 4 step-children, Kimberly Newman (Donald) of Nemacolin, Richard A. Welsh Jr. of Washington, Douglas A. Welsh (Deena) of Carmichaels, and Lynelle Teegarden (Eric) of Nemacolin; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Deceased are a brother, Roger Meloy and a sister, Judy Andrews.

Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Behm Funeral Homes Inc., 182 West High St., Waynesburg where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 1, 2012 with Rev. Ricky Croyle officiating.
