I am saddened by the passing of Ben. He was truly a great person that I admired his courage. I also apologize for my lateness. However, I just heard the news yesterday from Pat Oddo. My prayers are with you and your family.

I remember a time when our children were little and a game of keep away was going on.  My Erika was the smallest and it was easy to keep away from her but Ben was her hero.  Ben made the game equal and was so kind to Erika.  Even at a young age he was a great kid.  I still see that beautiful little boy. To Ben's family, My son and daughter-in-law attended Waynesburg University with Ben. That is how we got to know him.  I even have pictures of him in Florida with the baseball team my son's SR year.  He was such a sweet and loving person, and anyone who met him thought the world of him.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you.  We feel very blessed to have known Ben and feel that he had an impact on our lives from the moment we first got to know him.  His drive and determination were the first thing you noticed about him.  He was so blessed to have had a wonderful loving family to take such good care of him - he was always so happy and smiling.  I will never forget his smile.  Coach Humiston, Mrs. Humiston and his sister especially will miss him but he will never be forgotten by anyone. The news of Bens passing is so saddening to me, but I am comforted by the thought of him in a better place. I hope you find comfort in that as well. 

Ben helped me in ways he will never know... My second year of grad school was a stressful and sometimes lonely one, but whenever I would take Rooney for a walk and saw Ben outside it ALWAYS made my day. 

I loved talking to him about the Blue Devils and laughing at the dogs when Rooney would jump all over Emma. 

... And He was the best basketball announcer I ever had!! :)
