He was born March 4, 1949 in Waynesburg, a son of the late Charles B. and Ruth Anna Higgins Blair.
Boyt was a 1967 graduate of Waynesburg High School and a member of the 1966 undefeated football team.
He was a proud member of the United States Marine Corps serving a tour of duty in Vietnam. Boyt had a strong sense of duty to his family, church, and country. He was a hard worker, a strong, good man who was always willing to help anyone in need.
Boyt had been a coal miner and was a former Whiteley Township Supervisor.
He was a former member of Fairall United Methodist Church and the Whiteley Creek Community Church.
Boyt was a member of the American Legion Post #330, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #4793 and the Waynesburg F & AM Lodge #153.
On September 21, 1974 he married Angelene Kelley, who survives.
Also surviving are three children, a daughter, Julie (Dave) Mariner of McMurray; two sons, Charles (Natalie) Blair of Waynesburg, and Brant Blair of Waynesburg; five grandchildren, Ava, Isabella and Aliza Mariner, and Addison and Emma Blair; two sisters, Charlene (Brad) Monas of Waynesburg, and Christine Yourchik of Clarksville; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased is a sister, Beverly Orndoff.
A celebration of life service will be held on Sunday, February 20th at 2:00 pm at Valley View Farm Venue, 102 Orndorff Road, Waynesburg, PA 15370. The family suggests donations be made in his memory to the Humane Society of Greene County, Corner Cupboard Food Bank or a local charity of your choice.
