
Born December 7th, 1931, in Johnstown, PA, he was the third of five siblings. After graduating from Ferndale High School in 1948, he worked at Bethlehem Steel Mill as a Trolley Operator.
Carl married his childhood friend and the love of his life, Emma, and they were married for 62 years. Carl was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Air Force at Ladd Air Force Base as Teletype Maintenance in Fairbanks, Alaska. After returning home, he worked for AT&T Communications in Management for 32 years. Throughout their marriage, Carl and Emma enjoyed traveling together, visiting 46 of 50 states. Carl was also an avid fisherman for decades, visiting Canadian waters with friends and family yearly.
Carl’s kindness, generosity, and love for his family will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.
Carl is preceded by his wife Emma and his parents, Sarah Margaret and William Ament. He is survived by his three children, Diane Leventry, Gary, and Kim Cobaugh; his five grandchildren, Jamie Cobaugh, Amy Simpson, Deena Catalano, Emily Blosser, and Jennifer Randolph; and his four great-grandchildren, Emma and Evelyn Cobaugh, Madelyn Simpson, and Eden Cobaugh.
Private services will take place at a later date.
