Charles E. Barrickman

He was born Sunday, August 28,1921 in Monongalia County, WV. He was the son of the late Michael Barrickman and Anna Calvert Barrickman. Mr. Barrickman spent his entire life in Greene County.

Mr. Barrickman was a member of the United Mine Workers Local #2321, District 4. He was a graduate of Mt. Morris High School class of 1941 and was a Veteran having served with the United States Army during W.W.II.

He worked for 33 1/2 years as a Coal Miner. He first worked for Hillman Coal and Coke in Poland, PA. He later worked for McCarthney Coal Company in Dilliner, PA., and then for Artwright Coal at the Bunker Mine in WV. He retired from the Robena, U.S. Steel Company in 1984 as a Machine Operator.

His Wife: Anna Catharina Van Trier Barrickman, whom he married on January 26, 1946 died November 16, 1999.

Surviving is his caretaker and nephew Mike Eddy of Mt. Morris as well as several other nieces and nephews.

Deceased are 4 Sisters: Nellie Ritter, Belle Pyles, Ethel Snyder, and Anna Eddy. 1 Brother: Woodrow Barrickman

Friends will be received from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, October 09, 2018 in the Milliken and Throckmorton FH, Inc. Daryl L. Throckmorton Owner/Director,324 Mt. Morris Road, P.O. Box 478 Mount Morris, PA 15349 where services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Wednesday, October 10, 2018 with Rev. William Parker officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Mt. Morris, PA.
