He was born December 4, 1958 in Waynesburg, a son of Bud and Kitty Behm of Wind Ridge who survive.
Mr. Behm was an auctioneer and partner in Behm’s Auction Service. He was a licensed real estate salesman, broker and appraiser in Pennsylvania and West Virginia. At the age of 12 he was a member of the first graduating class of Knotts School of Auctioneering at Wheeling College. In 1970 he was recognized as the youngest licensed auctioneer in the U.S. and appeared as a contestant on “To Tell the Truth”
He was a 1976 graduate of West Greene High School. He studied real estate through Penn State University and the International Society of Appraisers.
Mr. Behm was a member of the First Baptist Church of Waynesburg where he served as a deacon and trustee. He was a 4-H leader and served on the board of Directors for the Jacktown Fair. He was a member of Waynesburg Lodge No. 153 Free and Accepted Masons.
On June 12 1982 he married Karen R. Boggs, who survives; also surviving are 2 sons, Justin Behm (Amanda) of Mt. Morris, Andrew Behm (Haddie Roberts) of Graysville; a granddaughter, Katelyn Behm; one brother Jim Behm (Shelly) of Glendale, WV; nieces Alexandria and Madeline Behm, Sarah, Hannah ,Rachael and Kayli Boggs, Madalyn and Mallory Grogacz; nephews, C.J. Behm, Gregory Cox, Brian Boggs and Cole Gorgacz; sisters-in - law, Nancy Cox (Fred) and Wendy Grogacz (Brian) , brothers-in law, Roy Boggs (Laurie) and Bruce Boggs (Judy); and father-in- law, Jack Boggs of New Castle.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church of Waynesburg, 303 West High St., Waynesburg where additional visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., the hour of services on Friday, May 25, 2012 with Dr. Edward Pierce and Pastor Bob Mooney officiating followed by burial in Rosemont Cemetery at Rogersville. Memorial contribution may be made to 2nd SAM 9, 290 West High St., Waynesburg, PA 15370.
