She was born on January 30, 1940 at 103 W. Hallum Ave. in Washington, PA. She was the daughter of Rodney Walton Harris and Maycel Ireta Blake Harris Kimmel. She accepted Jesus as her Savior at the age of 5 at the Windy Gap Presbyterian Church in West Finley, PA. She was a 1957 graduate of West Alexander High School. On December 12, 1959 she married John Allen Wells Sr.; he preceded her in death on January 8, 1996.
Surviving are two sons, John Allen Wells Jr. (Robyn) of Crucible, Pa and Robert Lee Wells (Kristin) of Wind Ridge, PA; daughter, Charlene Lynne Griedel (Eric) of Waynesburg, PA; grandson Ryan Lee Wells (Bree) of Nemacolin, PA; step-grandchildren, Shane Simms (Tiffany) of Vestaburg, PA and Raechel Simms Hoar (Scott) of Carmichaels, PA; 3 great-grandsons, Ayden Reynolds, Preston Wells, Rylan Wells; step-great-grandchildren, Silas and Aurora Simms and Joey and Savannah Hoar; sister, Bernice Collins of Lorain, OH; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Bedillion and Sue Parks; brothers-in-law, Joseph Ross and Jim Parks; nieces, Vicky Shuman (Gene) of Waynesburg, PA, Bonnie Wolfe (Dennis) of Crucible, PA, Sandy Barcia (John) of Lorain, OH; great-nieces and great-nephews, Rhonda Parson Morris (Joey), Christina DeFrank (John) of Mather, PA, Austin DeFrank of CA; Page DeFrank of Biloxi, MS, Sabrena Barcia of Venice, FL, Zachary Wolfe (Sarah) of Crucible, PA, Brandon Wolfe (Brittany) of Crucible, PA, Brently Durbin of Waynesburg, PA; Chelsea Tweed (Kevin), Duncan Tweed, Connor and Kenzlee Wolfe and Grace Wolfe.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by nephew, Kenneth Parson; brothers-in-law, Kenneth Bedillion and Bill Knotts; and sisters-in-law, Carolyn Knotts and Jean Ross.
A graveside service for Mrs. Wells will be held Tuesday, September 9, 2025 at 1PM at Pursley Cemetery, 1594 Oak Forest Rd, Waynesburg, PA 15370; her dear friends Don and Joan Amon will officiate the service.
