Darlene Kay Shipley

She was born September 23, 1953 in Waynesburg, PA, a daughter of the late Ray Wood and Mabel Tennant Wood.

Darlene was a member of the Jefferson Baptist Church in Jefferson, PA.

She was well known for her cooking all throughout the area and was a loving homemaker.

Her Husband: George E. Shipley, whom she married on April 14, 1985 survives. Also surviving are 2 Sons: Mark Anthony Silverthorne of Jefferson, PA, Jason Robert Silverthorne of Jefferson, PA, 2 Daughters: Kathy Lee Farrier and husband Johnny of Jefferson, PA, Florence Marie Shipley and Bruce of Greensburg, PA, 2 Grandchildren: Aubrey Faith Farrier of Jefferson, PA, Alexander John Farrier of Jefferson, PA, 2 Brothers: Jerry Wood and wife Debbie of Jefferson, PA, Donald Wood and wife Sharon of Jefferson, PA and several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and her best friend/sister Arlene Efaw. Deceased: 1 Sister: Sara Tharp, 2 Brothers: Ray Wood and Frank Black and her beloved dog Sparky.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, June 22, 2026 in the Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home, Inc. 197 N. Maiden St., Waynesburg, PA 15370 Shane M. Ayers-Managing Director where her funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, June 23, 2026 with Pastor Kevin Roberts officiating.
