He was born August 26, 1942 in Waynesburg, a son of the late Fred H. and Madge Marie Wright Dulaney.
He made his home with his long time love and best friend, Mary Ellen Inghram, who survives.
He graduated from Waynesburg High School in 1962. After high school he served in the U.S. Army.
Mr. Dulaney worked at Burns Appliance Store in Waynesburg with John and Mike Gardner for many years and had also worked for Baroid in Waynesburg. He went on to work for ABC Industries in Waynesburg. He was transferred to Charleston, West Virginia, and three years later transferred to Warsaw, Indiana until his retirement in 2010.
David loved helping others. He took care of family, friends, neighbors, and their pets. He kept an eye of the neighborhood, mowed grass, shoveled snow, brought-in garbage cans, picked-up mail, and carried dog treats in his pocket. Some even called him the “Mayor of the Trailer Park.” Collecting aluminum cans “kept him out of trouble.”
Surviving are his children, Kenney, Tammy, Toni, Andy, Patrick, and Janie; grandchildren, Renae, Diana, Torri, Anthony, and Cody; great-grandchildren, Destinie, Derrick, and Kayla. He was affectionately known to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren as “ Papoose.” Also surviving are one sister, Cindy Dulaney Brewer; one brother, Fred C. Dulaney; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Deceased are one sister, Suzanne Dulaney Gilbert; and two brothers, Thomas Dulaney and John Dulaney.
Friends will be received from 12 Noon until 2 p.m., the hour of services, Wednesday, May 16, 2018 with Rev. William Parker officiating. His cremated remains will be inurned at a later date in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Greene County, 183, Jefferson Road, Waynesburg, www.greenepet.org .
