

She was born December 5, 1934 in Crucible, a daughter of the late Walter Raleigh and Lucy Ellen Neel Danforth.
Mrs. Carpenter had worked as a chamber maid on the US Steel river boats during the 1950’s where she met her husband. Then later she worked as a waitress at the Century Inn in Scenery Hill for 25 years.
Corky had resided much of her life in Coal Center and Monessen areas, and she had been a member of the Christian Covenant Church in Belle Vernon.
On July 29, 1955 she married Herbert Carpenter Jr., who died April 21, 2000.
Surviving are two sons, Herbert M. Carpenter and Curtis L. (Kate) Carpenter both of Washington; five grandchildren, Leah O. Carpenter, Aaron L. Carpenter, Elizabeth H. Carpenter, Jesse C. Carpenter, and Chelsea Carr; 4 great grandchildren, Aiden, Gibson, Eli and Molly; three sisters, Bernice Barnhart of New Stanton, Mary Herilla and Judy Burkhart both of Springdale.
Deceased are a sister, Tillie Neal; three brothers, William Danforth, Walter Danforth, and John Danforth.
Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, in the Behm Funeral Homes, 182 W. High St., Waynesburg, PA 15370, with funeral services on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Edward Hanley officiating. Interment will follow in Hewitt Cemetery, Rices Landing.
