He was born March 27, 1921 in Pricetown, WV, a son of the late M.C. “Curt” Brumage and Elizabeth Yost Brumage.
He was a 1941 graduate of Waynesburg High School.
On October 23, 1943 he married Virginia Zoeller Brumage, who survives.
Mr. Brumage was a self-employed drilling contractor and oil and gas producer.
He was a veteran of World War II serving as a pilot in the Army Air Corps.
He was a lifetime resident of Waynesburg where he was a member of St. George’s Anglican Church.
Mr. Brumage enjoyed spending time with his family, helping others, and gardening. He loved to fly. He also shared his daughter Beth’s passion for rescuing abused and abandoned cats.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Beth Brumage of Waynesburg; a son James Brumage and his fiancée Debbie Burnfield of Waynesburg; a granddaughter, Cynthia (Gary) Bowers of Waynesburg; two grandsons, Karl and Curtis Brumage both of Florida; two great-granddaughters Caitlyn Bowers and Riley Jac Bowers; and his “adopted daughter”, Signe Plumlee of Alabama formerly of Waynesburg.
Deceased are three sisters, Imogene Wood, Mary Frances Carnahan, and Wanda Smith; and one brother, Joseph Brumage.
Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday at Behm Funeral Homes Inc., 182 West High St., Waynesburg, where services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 24, 2011 with Rev. William Parker officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Whiteley Township.
