She was born December 4, 1932 in East Finley Township, PA, a daughter of the late Gilbert O. Frye and Hazel Saunders Frye.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Waynesburg, PA and a former member of the Blacksville Baptist church, where she served as Deaconess, and for 30 years taught the primary Sunday school class and Bible school. She served for several years as a secretary for the American Baptist Women and served as President for two years, and was also a member of the choir. Geraldine was a member of the AARP and was a homemaker. She enjoyed reading, music, flowers, gardening, and sewing. In her early years, she was employed by Tygart Valley Glass Company and had received a certificate from the modern school of practical nursing from Pittsburgh, PA.
Her husband: Clarence E. Calvert Jr. whom she married on August 30, 1952 passed away in 2019. Surviving are 1 Daughter: Diana and husband Albert Thompson of Enola, PA, 1 Son: C. Gerald and wife Carol Calvert of Waynesburg, PA, 4 Grandsons: Keith Lemley and wife Taryn McMahon, William Thompson and wife Jennifer, David Calvert and wife Julie, Jonathan Calvert and Madeline, 5 Great-Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was the last of her immediate family. Deceased: 6 Sisters – Marjorie Frye, Alberta Frye, Freda Thomas, Evelyn Pettit, Verna Vittek, Dolly Grimes, 2 Brothers-Donald Frye and Everett "Red" Frye.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Saturday, October 3, 2026 in the Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home 197 North Maiden St., Waynesburg, PA 15370 Shane M. Ayers-Managing Director with her funeral service being held at 1:00 PM with Pastor Jim Carpenter officiating. Interment will be in Blacksville Cemetery, Blacksville, WV.
