

He was born August 6, 1947 in Waynesburg, a son of the late Paul and Ruth Thomas Stephenson.
He was a 1965 graduate of Waynesburg High School and attended Slippery Rock University.
Mr. Stephenson was a veteran of the U. S. Navy, serving from September 1967 to June of 1971 with Attack Squadron 165 aboard the USS Ranger and the USS America. His service included two tours of duty in Vietnam.
He grew-up playing baseball, was a pony league coach, and thoroughly enjoyed watching his grandsons play baseball. He loved spending time with all of his grandchildren, and was also an avid golfer.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Waynesburg, Free and Accepted Masons Lodge 153, Waynesburg Moose Lodge 461, and American Legion Post 330.
He retired from Hatfield Power Station after 35 years of service.
Surviving are his wife Sharon Watson Stephenson, one daughter, Jennifer Stephenson, four grandchildren, Mackenzie, Hunter, Luke, and Emma; a son-in-law, Lee Robinson; one sister, Lori (Jim) Patterson of Waynesburg; nieces and nephews; his sisters-in-law, Mary Sue (Lynn) Crayne of Jefferson and Natalie (John) Greenlee of Waynesburg; and his “special brother” Lynn Brewer.
Deceased in addition to his parents are two brothers Craig and Mike Stephenson.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 10, 2017 in the First Church of the Nazarene, 115 Deerfield Lane, Waynesburg, with Rev. John M. Poling officiating, followed by a reception in the church fellowship hall. Condolences may be offered at www.behmfh.com .
