

John Edward "Buzzard" Albert, 74, of Waynesburg, PA passed away on Saturday, June 21, 2025 in UPMC Washington from cardiac arrest. He was born in Waynesburg, PA on February 15, 1951, a son of the late Edward and Rose B. Albert, one of five children. As a kid, he participated in little league baseball, football and wrestling. He attended Waynesburg High School, graduating in 1969 and went on to California University, graduating with a degree in psychology. While at Cal U, he was the placekicker for the Vulcan football team. After college he lived and worked on Virginia Beach for 4 years before returning to Waynesburg and worked in the family business Albert's Restaurant and Motor Inn. He then went on to sell for American General Insurance Company until he retired. On June 21, 1996 he married Pamela Gocke and they made their home on the farm. John loved the outdoors and set up the Terre Belle Fishing Club. You always found him at the farm. Each year, John would brew up his batch of "Buzzard Island Nuclear Waste Barbeque Sauce," which has become well known around the county. John was quite the humorous type. He and Pam had the most hilarious Christmas Cards for years and if you were lucky, you got on the list! He was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Rose, sister Patricia and brothers Don and Bob. He is survived by his only sibling Anita and husband Rick Lanoy, nephews Chris Albert and Michael Albert and his beloved German Shepherd Wiley. There will be no public visitation or services.
