John Keith Harvey, Sr.

 He was born Saturday, August 01, 1925 in Coalton,WV. A son of the late Clarence A. "Dutch" Harvey and Pearle Baldwin Harvey.

  Mr. Harvey was Methodist by faith.  He was a member of the United Mine Workers Local #31, the James T. Maxon American Legion Post #992 of Mt. Morris and was one of the original members of the Mt. Morris Sportsman Club. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, hunting and fishing when his health permitted. He was a volunteer Game Protector in Greene County for 20 years. Mr. Harvey was a Veteran having served with the United States Navy during W.W. II on the U.S.S. Walker 517 and was involved with the invasion of Leyte Gulf. He first worked for West Penn Power Co. and then worked for the Brock Coal Mine in Cassville, WV., and the South Union Coal in Edna, WV. Mr. Harvey then worked for Galis Mine Manufacturing in Fairmont, WV. He retired in 1981 from South Union Coal Co. as a Mechanic/Electrician. He also owned and operated Harvey's Welding and Fabricating in Mt. Morris.   

 He is survived by his Wife: Rose L. Donley Harvey,whom he married 73 years ago on June 15, 1944.

 Also surviving are his loving Sons: John K. (Judy) Harvey,Jr., of Morgantown, WV. and Greg A.(Linda) Harvey, of Mt. Morris, PA., 3 Grandchildren: Jeff Harvey, Brad Harvey, and Ryan Harvey., 3 Great Grandchildren: Shauri Harvey, Clay Harvey, and Canon Harvey, and 1 Great Great Grandson:Greyson Harvey. 2 Sisters: Virginia McCade, of Core, WV., and Jackie Bell, of Core, WV., 2 Brothers: R. A. Harvey, of Grafton, OH., Joel Harvey, of Core, WV., and several nieces and nephews. Also surviving are his wonderful caregivers, Megan Collins, Lena Lewis, Kaylynn Fazenbaker

 Deceased are 2 Sisters: Eyleen Paugh and Coleen Sperandio, 3 Brothers: Lewis "Junior" Harvey, Kenneth Harvey, and  Donnie Harvey who died in infancy.

 Friends will be received from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Sunday, June 11, 2017 in the Milliken and Throckmorton FH, Inc. Daryl L. Throckmorton Owner/Director,324 Mt. Morris Road, P.O. Box 478  Mount Morris, PA. 15349 where services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Monday, June 12, 2017 with  Pastor David McElroy officiating.  Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Mt. Morris, PA. Graveside Military Honors will be accorded by the James T. Maxon American Legion Post #992 of Mt.
