It is with deep sadness that we note the passing of John W. Shriver of Waynesburg. John died Monday, July 13 in Washington Hospital following heart complications. Although he had not been in the best of health, his death was unexpected. Born on August 30, 1962, he was 63 years old. The youngest child of the late Francis Richard and June Haring Shriver of Waynesburg, John grew up on the family farm on Gordon Hill and was active in 4-H and East Franklin Grange activities.
John was a 1980 graduate of Waynesburg Central High School. He was a machinist by trade and had been employed at Royal Hydraulic Service and Manufacturing in Cokeburg, PA for many years. He was known for his meticulous attention to detail and high-precision metalwork. He was an avid motorcyclist and enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson with his friends.
He is survived by three sisters and brother-in-laws, Shirley Blough (Lenny) of Washington, Pat Stout (Walt) of Ruff Creek, and Barbara Liming of Jefferson and several nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition to his parents are two brothers, Kenneth, who died in infancy, and Edward L. Shriver who passed in 2014.
In keeping with his wishes, there will be no public visitation or service.
