Joseph R. Scattaregia

He was born August 2, 1918 in Carnegie, a son of the late Pasquale and Domenica Miraglia Scattaregia.

His wife, Alyce S. Scattaregia died December 7, 1985.

Mr. Scattaregia was a retired salesman for Ryerson Steel in Carnegie. He resided in Ruff Creek since 1976.

He was an avid Steelers fan and loved to play golf.

Surviving are his children, Lisa Hostvedt of Seattle, WA, Joseph R. Scattaregia Jr. (Kathleen) of Ruff Creek, Lori Cole (Robert) of Ruff Creek, Leslie Smith (Will) of Jefferson, Mark Scattaregia (Sue) of Dormont, Michael Scattaregia (Wendy) of Ruff Creek, and Domenica Scattaregia of Medina, OH; 12 grandchildren, Robert Cole III, Abigail Cole, Sarah Jane Cole, Joseph R. Scattaregia III, Will Smith Jr., Megan Kingan, Mark Scattaregia Jr., Stephen Scattaregia, Jessica Arch, Ryan Hostvedt, Kassandra Adams, and Hunter Adams; and 7 great-grandchildren.

He was the last of his immediate family. Deceased are 5 siblings.

Friends will be received 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday in Behm Funeral Homes Inc., 182 West High St., Waynesburg where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 3, 2015 with Rev. Joe DiDinato officiating followed by interment in Oakmont Cemetery, Waynesburg. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Sisters of Charity of Seton Hill, 144 DePaul Center Rd., Greensburg, PA 15601-1253.
