Leroy Kennedy

Leroy was born in Waynesburg, PA. He graduated Waynesburg High School and was employed by UNC Grounds Department in Chapel Hill, NC for 20 years. He was a member of Cornerstone Community Church.

Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Donna Kennedy of the home. The year Leroy and Donna wed in 1979, Leroy became a husband, father and grandfather that special day in August. He is also survived by five daughters, Donna Buchanan (John) of Greensboro, PA, Jackie Jones of Hillsborough, NC, Malisa Espana of Burlington, NC, Rhonda Bennett (Dave) of Prospect Hill, NC and Barbara Riddle (James) of Mebane, NC; four sons, James Smith of Lenoir, NC, Donald Smith of Snow Camp, NC, Edward Smith (Becky) of Clifton Park, NY and Bryan Smith (Beth) of Brownsville, NJ; 28 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Alvin Kennedy of Hillsborough, NC, Jon Kennedy of Waynesburg, PA and Jimmy Kennedy of Waynesburg, PA; sister, Tammy Kennedy of Waynesburg, PA; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Kennedy was preceded in death by his parents, Alva and Della Kennedy; sister, Linda Sue Kennedy; a granddaughter, Amanda Cook; and brother, George Kennedy.

The funeral service will be conducted at Cornerstone Community Church, 6324 S NC Highway 87, Graham, NC on Friday, October 7, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 2:30 til 4:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.

Additional visitation will be held from 12 Noon until 1 p.m. on Sunday, October 9, 2016 in Behm Funeral Homes Inc., 182 West High St., Waynesburg followed by burial in Greene County Memorial Park.
