Loretta was born on August 2, 1934, in Monessen, the oldest of 5 children of Albert and Anna Anthony. She graduated from Belle Vernon High School and then Douglas Business College. She was a career woman and worked at Page Steel and Wire, Datafold and then Franklin Township Sewer Authority.
She married Louis Dayich, the love of her life, on January 20, 1959 and moved to Greene County several years later.
She read the newspaper, did crossword puzzles, watched cable news, shopped like it was her job and met strangers by telling them the best deals in the grocery store.
Loretta was an avid reader, generous to a fault, never met a stranger, and had wisdom of the ages that she used as a worthy advisor to many. She had an excellent eye for beauty and quality and was known for her hospitality, great family dinners, determination and quick wit.
She was an active and longtime member of Saint George Episcopal church and the Social Services league.
She loved a good bargain, yard sales and she cherished her very dear friends. She was the matriarch of many and is survived by her loving children Karina (John) and Lou (Tammy) and her grandchildren Annie (Brandon), Nick, Clarine and Steven and her extended family Everleigh, Layla and Camren. She was a force of nature and will be greatly missed.
