Louise C. West

Minnie Louise West, aged 104, passed away on February 16th, 2024, in Orlando, FL. Born on August 16th, 1919, in Washington, Pennsylvania, she dedicated her life to education, retiring from the Columbia, SC, public school system in 1979. Louise was an alumna of California University of Pennsylvania, which laid the foundation for her long and impactful career as a public school teacher.

Louise and James Ronald West were married on June 1, 1946, a union that lasted until James's passing on December 28, 2013. Together, they raised their son, Dennis West, and delighted in the growth of their family to include grandchildren Erin, Laine, and Eric West, and great-grandchild Cecilia Mello.

A long-time member of the Montverde United Methodist Church in Montverde, Florida, Louise's faith played a significant role in her life. Her commitment to her church and community was evident in her actions and the way she lived her life every day.

There will be a greeting of friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, the time of her service on Saturday, March 2, 2024 in the Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home, Inc. 197 N. Maiden St. Waynesburg, PA 15370 with Rev. William Parker officiating. Burial will be in Greene County Memorial Park, Morgan Twp. Greene Co., PA 15370 Shane M. Ayers, Director has been entrusted with her arrangements. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to a charity of one's choosing in Louise's memory.
