Mark and I were teammates at Waynesburg , I will always remember what a tough competitor he was . I am proud to have been his teammate. He was an integral part of the 1981 Waynesburg team that went to Kansas City for the first time in the schools history . I am sorry I will not be able to attend his celebration of life today . Dopp was a great guy who always tried to do the right thing. Spent many a nights and days working Starlake in the 90’s with Dopp.  We always had a great time. Rest easy my brother!

Bob still talks about the Notre Dame football game he attended with Dop and Sean. They had eaten at Primanti’s and were heading back to the stadium and found Chic Fillet sandwiches being given away for free on every street. Yep, you guessed it. Dop ate quite a few on the way back and stuffed a few extras in his pocket for later on. He loved to eat for sure.

I never missed a basketball game to watch #32 play.  He & John Boalsburg were are team’s top players.  The team got to play in the Civic Arena, which was such a highlight for the team & our school.  I had the biggest crush on him in high school.  We had one class together throughout our high school years.  I did get a senior picture from him.  Always wondered where he went after high school .  He never came to the reunions.  I will keep his family in prayer for God’s comfort & strength.  

My deepest condolences to Mark’s family, I was truly saddened to hear of his untimely passing.

I met Mark when we attended Connellsville High School together in the seventies. While we were both on the basketball team, he was the star, and I was a scrub. But we became very good friends. After graduation in 1980, we lost touch and I only saw Mark a few times when randomly our paths crossed. He always made me feel like he was happy to see me, and we always shared a few laughs. Decades passed and then Mark contacted me when my dad died recently. We talked about life and how to live it and Mark invited me to come visit him and Sue at the lake some weekend. I did and Mark went out of his way to make me feel welcome. It was great to reconnect with someone I knew as a teenager. I enjoyed his company and was so touched by the hospitality that Sue and Mark extended.

Mark truly loved his family, his friends, and his life. He was bigger than life and really cared for those that he surrounded himself with. He will be so missed. Thanks for everything my friend.

A fierce rebounder and tenacious defender, Dopp never cared about stats or headlines, only team. One day he came to my dorm room and dragged me to a pre-season workout which I didn't want to go to. He'd  only met me two weeks earlier but took the time to make sure that Me, a nobody, a nothing, would be there working with the others. You don't forget something like that. Even after 38 years. God bless him and his love ones.

I was a nobody a nothing, and even though we'd only met 2 weeks before he cared enough to come get me and make me go. You don't forget something like that. Even after 38 years. 

Dopp - 6'6" of larger than life.  Good Guy!  We met in the dorms of Waynesburg College.  He liked to initiate some wrestling.  I knew who was the boss!  He helped put Waynesburg College basketball on the map.  Later in life we had a friend that had ALS - Bobby.  Bobby wanted to go fishing, Dopp made it happen, against T.K.'s better judgment.  He treated that man like an angel looking after a son.  
RIP- GOOD GUY!  We caught them good that day, maybe divine intervention.  Hang in there Sue.

I am so very sorry to hear of Mark's passing.  He was a kind man who often spoke so lovingly of his family and pets when he'd stop by the office.  May you all be comforted during this difficult time.

I was a basketball teammate of Mark's at Waynesburg and a rival prior in high school as he attended Connelsville High and me at Laurel Highlands.
I'm terribly saddened to hear of his tragic passing.
We were competitors, friends and close teammates.
Mark was a great person whom I treasured as a friend in our youth.
Although we havent seen each other in over 35 years, our brotherhood was and always will be secured.
My sincere condolances to his family which he heald dear and our other brothers.
Rest in peace my friend.
