Mary Josephine Ackley, 70, of Waynesburg, PA passed away at 5:07 AM on Saturday, March 30, 2024 at home. Mary was born March 27, 1954 in Waynesburg, PA a daughter of the late Guy Whipkey and Virginia Morris Whipkey. Mary was a member of the Mount Morris Gospel Tabernacle Assembly of God. She belonged to the Secret Sisters Club and was a member of the choir at Mount Morris Gospel Tabernacle as well. When her health permitted, she would volunteer at the Salvation Army in Waynesburg. Mary was a homemaker. Her Husband: Earnest L. Ackley, whom she married on July 8, 1972 died on November 2, 2022. Surviving are 2 Daughters: Staci Huggins of Jefferson, PA and Tammy (David) John of Waynesburg, PA, 1 Son: Joseph (Brandi) Ackley of Spraggs, PA, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, 3 Sisters: Alice Rogers of Mount Morris, PA, Sara Kiger of Spraggs, PA, Peggy Sue Blaker of Florida, 4 Brothers: Charles Whipkey of Waynesburg, PA, Albert Whipkey of Jefferson, PA, Guy "Junior" Whipkey of Mount Morris, PA, Thomas Whipkey of Mount Morris, PA and several nieces and nephews. Deceased is 1 Daughter: Kristy L. Riley There will be visitation from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Thursday, April 4, 2024 in the Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home, Inc. 197 N. Maiden St. Waynesburg, PA 15370 Shane M. Ayers, Director where services will be held on Friday, April 5, 2024 at 11:00 AM with Revs. Cathie Carpenter and Jim Carpenter officiating.
