He was born on February 7, 1944 to the late Elsie and Spencer Fox. He married Bernice “Bernie” Stitchick in 1987; she survives him. He taught music and was the band director at Albert Gallatin School District. Nelson was the organist at The First Baptist Church of Waynesburg and a member of the Waynesburg Lions.
In addition to his wife, Bernie, he is survived by his children, Randy Stitchick (Terry) and Angie Wilson (Elliott); grandchildren, Ashley Wilson, Jessica Jack, Nicole Stitchick, and Bobby Stitchick; and six great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Joanne Fox.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 29 from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM at The First Baptist Church of Waynesburg, 303 W. High St., Waynesburg, PA 15370, where a funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 30 at 11 AM; burial to follow at Jefferson Cemetery.
