He was born July 20, 1940 in Pittsburgh a son of Rosetta Crenshaw Dixon of Pittsburgh and the late Donald Robert Dixon.
Mr. Dixon was a retired salesman and route driver for Nickles Bakery and had worked as a coal miner for U.S. Steel.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Waynesburg. He dearly loved spending time with his family and guiding children. He enjoyed playing cards, fishing, sports and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Surviving in addition to mother are his wife, Robin Price Dixon, whom he married April 4, 1988; children, Vanessa Dixon (Travis Lutes), Sydnie Whitacre (Dave), Justine Dixon, Ronna Dixon (Cornelius “Neil” Harp), Robin Shaffer (Ronald Jones), Robbie Dixon, Reginald Andre Dixon (Brenda Davis), Erica Dixon, Jamie Dixon, Reggie Donald Dixon, Shasaun Dixon, Darilyn Gardner, and Reggis Johnson (Gia); godchildren, John David Blouir and J. Weber; sisters, Donna Anderson and Darilyn Scott; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by a daughter Chanima Dixon; and grandmother, Arlene Crenshaw.
Friends will be received from 1 to 2 p.m . on Thursday February 23, 2012 at the First Baptist Church 303 West High St., Waynesburg where a memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Cristy Wise officiating.
