Richard L. Grimes

He was born July 27, 1934 in Morgan Township, Greene County, a son of the late Ernest E. and Ethel Dennison Grimes.

On February 6, 1954 he married Wahneita Thomas Grimes, who survives.

Mr. Grimes retired from the Jefferson – Morgan School District where he worked as a custodian for 30 years and as a bus driver for 43 years.

He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Lippencott where he served as a Trustee and Deacon for many years. He was also active in the Waynesburg Senior Citizens Center.

Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Kevin L. Grimes (Zoe) of Columbia, SC; two granddaughters, Kyla Grimes and Manisha Grimes; two grandsons, Dimitry Grimes and Peter Grimes; 3 great grandchildren, Mischa, Gabriel, and Braydon; two brothers, Charles D. Grimes and Ernie Grimes both of Waynesburg; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in Behm Funeral Homes Inc., 182 West High St., Waynesburg where services will be held at 1:00 p.m. , Tuesday, March 17, 2015 with Rev. Gary Smith and Rev. Nick Bardo officiating followed by interment in Jefferson Cemetery. Condolences may be offered at www.behmfh.com .
