He was born February 24, 1924 in Aleppo Township, Greene County, a son of the late Earl and Laura Cook Anderson.
Mr. Anderson worked as a mine shaft construction superintendent for R.G. Johnson and Williamson. He served as a Franklin Township Supervisor for six years.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the Army Air Corps in Europe and North Africa.
Mr. Anderson was a member of the Oak View United Methodist Church at Waynesburg and the Carmichaels Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Surviving are his wife Mary Dulaney Anderson, whom he married on April 4, 1946; a granddaughter Carrie Anderson Arbogast and husband Roy of Waynesburg; a great-granddaughter, Robi Arbogast; a sister, Viola Moore of Waynesburg; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a son, Robert E. Anderson Jr.; three brothers, Wilbur, Raymond, and Donald Anderson; and three sisters, Irene Davis, Gladys Clutter, and Alberta Morris.
