She was born on June 1, 1925, a daughter of Oda and Audra Tallman in Elkins, WV. She graduated from Elkins High School. Ruth was known as "The Sunglass Queen" at the nursing home. She was also known for breaking out in spontaneous song. She always made people smile.
She is survived by her daughters, Gwen Wendell (Rich) and Tammy Forrester (Charlie); grandchildren, Chad Wendell (Courtney), Kendra Payton (Andy) Austin Forrester (Sahara); great-grandchildren, Chris and Cameron Wendell and Brycelynn Gray Forrester.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wilford Gray; sisters, Evelyn and Pearl; and brothers, Carl, Walter, and Junior Wayne.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Waynesburg Healthcare and Rehab at a later date.
