

He was born November 24, 1928 at Pine Bank, a son of the late Shirley M. Roberts Sr. and Goldie Myrtle Cole.
He was veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Army.
Mr. Roberts had worked for the Green Ridge Gas Company at Aleppo and for Headlee Brothers Sawmill.
He attended the Valley Chapel Methodist Church at Holbrook and was a member of Disabled American Veterans 123 at Waynesburg.
He enjoyed hunting and was Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
Surviving are seven children, Robin D. Roberts (Judy) of Holbrook, Steven M. Roberts of New Freeport, Shirley Ann Anderson (Brian) of Mt. Morris, Crystal L. Roberts of Mt. Morris, Leah R. Cain (Jack) of Wind Ridge, James Henry Roberts (Peggy) of Holbrook, and Keith S. Roberts (Shelly) of Brave; a stepson Robert Ward (Debra) of Newton Falls, OH; 16 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren,
Deceased are a son, Kevin L. Roberts; 2 brothers; 3 sisters; and his long-time companion, Hazel “Ruthie” Ward.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Behm Funeral Homes Inc., 182 West High St., Waynesburg where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 15, 2011 with Rev. Scott Blair officiating followed by interment at Bethany Cemetery in Jackson Township, with graveside military rites by American Legion Post 330, Veterans of Foreign Ward 4793 and Disabled American Veterans 123 all of Waynesburg the U. S. Army.
