He was born February 9, 1948 in Waynesburg, a son of the late Samuel and Mildred Swaniger Toland
Thomas was a lifetime resident of Waynesburg and had worked as a laborer in construction and farming.
He grew up in the Prosperity and Lone Pine area and had resided most of his life in Waynesburg.
He attended the WWJD Center in Waynesburg. Tom enjoyed spending time with his grandson and solving crossword puzzles.
Surviving are his wife, Delores Harris Toland; a son Raymond Toland (Grace) of Mount Morris; a grandson Adam Toland; a sister, and Dolores I. Herrod, of Waynesburg; a brother Stanley E. Toland of Mount Morris.; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are four sisters, Eileen Purman, Nellie Toland, Beatrice Durbin, and Linda Young; and five brothers, Harold, Ray, Samuel, and Jim Toland, and an infant brother.
