Virginia M. Morris Whipkey

She was born April 20, 1937 at Wind Ridge, a daughter of the late Harry and Lenor Irene Frye Morris.

On August 27, 1953 she married Guy Whipkey, who died October 6, 2004.

Mrs. Whipkey worked for over 18 years at West Virginia University Medical Center. She started as nurse’s aide and transferred to the housekeeping department. She had also worked briefly at Greene County Memorial Hospital.

She attended the Mt. Morris Gospel Tabernacle.

Surviving are four daughters, Mary Jo Ackley of Waynesburg, Alice Rogers and Peggy Sue Blake both of Mount Morris, and Sara Kiger of Spraggs; four sons, Charles Whipkey of Waynesburg, Thomas, Albert and Junior Whipkey all of Mount Morris; 24 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; 4 step-great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandson; and one brother, Harold Richard Morris of Mt. Morris.

Deceased are a grandson, Michael Kiger; 2 brothers, William Harry Morris and James Perry Morris; and 2 sisters, Betty Anderson and Ida Pearl Rutan.

Friends will be received 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Behm Funeral Homes Inc., 182 West High St., Waynesburg where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 9, 2012 with Rev.
