Ocean City, Shad landing, Jane's Island, Frontier Town and Assateauge Island were favorite places to camp. Lake Bonnie with the whole crowd was a blast in spring with the Easter games.  Crows Nest in the fall to climb mountains and buy Apple's.  Always another adventure. That is what Abe n Don where into. Those days were golden times. I can't pick just one moment. Dad missed Mr Abe they both called each. other best friend. May they carry on the adventure in heaven as they are both on the other side now.

My fondest memories of Grandpa Abe were visiting his house for Christmas when I was a kid. He'd always have the best Christmas village and train garden setup! I was always in awe of it. I would sit with him watching westerns for hours and munch on the buckeyes Grandma Greta made. 
My father was telling me stories of how he and Grandpa built homes together. He said Grandpa was always determined that they could do it without help from anyone else. He was a very talented man and hard-working! My Dad said he learned a lot from him and he and Grandpa were good friends. He is surely going to be missed by many!!

My condolences to the family , uncle Abe was a good  uncle . He always welcomed my Mom & my self when we went to visit , He & my mom Lynn would sit around talking about growing up . He was a great builder all of His houses were gorgeous!! He could do anything !! He was a great Man ! 

First,I want to send my condolences,to Sheila,Lisa,Abe,and the grandkids.     Uncle Abe,was a man,I was in awe of,growing up.He was a man that lived the adage,If you put your mind to it,you can accomplish anything.Uncle Abe was always into something,and moving.Here’s a small sample,of the things,we all watched him do.He and Aunt Linda,bought a very small,beach shack,on Marley Creek.Uncle Abe turned it into an “L”shaped rancher,probably 4 -5 times the size of the shack.A fire place included.He built all of it.He needed a truck to haul supplies,for the build.So,he took a 57 Chevy,and made a truck out of it.Now,living on the water,Uncle Abe,needed a boat.So,he built a wooden one.In 1967 our  family move into the basement,of their house.But,before we moved in,there had to be a basement.With the help of my father and the little help from me,they raised the house,on pole jacks.Dug out the dirt,for the rest of the room.Dug the footer,he laid the block,and set the house back down,on the block.They then,floated the cement floor.I was 11-12 yrs old,and thought this is just incredible.I remember spending,a lot of weekends,at their home.Babysitting on Saturday night,so they could go out with friends.Playing penny ante poker,on some Saturday nights,with,Uncle Doug,Uncle Abe ,Aunt Linda.I had a blast.Then Uncle  Abe bought a “big boat”.An all steel,cabin cruiser,25 ft.He named it “Lazy Bones”.I think it weighed one million pounds.Slow as molasses.It was his baby,though.We all had great times on it.The one thing that was missing,on the boat,that he wanted,was a fly bridge.So,he built a fly bridge.Now,can you imagine what goes into building that?You have the Steering unit,power controls,electrical systems.Plus the seating.Another incredible job.Don’t forget,the rail system,he built,to winch the big boat,out of the water.The man was too much.I learned,so much from him.There are so many stories to be told.The crab feasts/cookouts. I loved that man!!!

My grandfather lived in Florida for most of my life while i lived in Maryland. The absolute best times of my life were spent with him, in Florida. I remember telling all of my friends about my epic summers, bragging about my grandfather. He was not your average grandfather... he was a jokester, waging prank wars on my brother, father, and i. He was a captain, showing us everything the ocean had to offer. He was an explorer, taking us to remote locations- hidden gems. (One time he took us to a beach that was almost completely made of sand dollars!!) He was an amazing grandfather. Never a dull moment when he was around... he made my cheeks hurt from laughing too much. This summer we spent a week together in Crisfield, boy, i wish we could go back to that week. I will miss you so much but i am glad you gave me some of the greatest memories to hang on to. I’m being cut off with a word limit so i have to wrap this up even though i still have so much to say!!!

I’m a better man for having known Abe.  Couldn’t ask for a better father in law. 

I remember when we lived in Marley and with Uncle Abe. We had a lot of fun there. I remember one particular time Uncle Abe asked Chuck to go up to the store and buy a soda. All the way back from the store Chuck was shaking the soda the whole time and then when he went to hand it to Uncle Abe he twisted off the top and the soda exploded. Chuck just laughed and laughed and then Uncle Abe started chasing him around the yard.  That was a fun memory, I'm very sorry for your loss he was a good man. Abe and Linda were very good to us and put a roof over our heads when we needed it.
