Waynesville-Ada Marie Moore, 94, died on Friday, June 22, 2018, at Haywood Lodge and Retirement. Ada was born in Haywood County on August 15, 1923, to the late Pilgrim and Annie Marie Robinson Blanton. Ada and her late husband made their home on beautiful Plott Creek where they enjoyed a garden, with chickens and cattle grazing in the pasture. She was a lifetime employee of Dayco, working there for almost 50 years retiring in 1989. Ada enjoyed her home life. She loved working in her flower garden and going to her hair appointments every Friday, as well as birthday gatherings with “the girls”. Ada also enjoyed the fellowship of her church, Hazelwood Baptist that she thought so much of.
In addition to her parents, Ada was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Moore; brothers, Lloyd Blanton and Samuel Blanton; two sisters, Edna Duckett and Vena Blanton; and a special friend, Rufus Carswell.
Ada is survived by nephew, Rickey Blanton and wife, Nancy; nephew Mike Duckett and wife, Linda; niece, Marie Belt and husband, Roger; niece, Patri Ann Woods and husband, Wendell (Bucky); great-nephews, Brandon Green and Nicole, Stephen Blanton and wife, Spring, and David Blanton; great-nieces, Allison Duckett, Robyn Owens and husband, DG; great-great nephews, Jack and Wyatt; and great-great nieces, Madysun, Sadie, Maci and Freya.
Funerals services will be held at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, June 26, at Hazelwood Baptist Church with the Reverend Tim Lolley officiating. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 PM prior to the service at the church.
The family request that in lieu of flowers memorial donations be made to Haywood Christian Ministries, Haywood Hospice, or to the charity of your choice in the name of our precious Ada.
