Annie “Ann” Mauldin Honeycutt, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 5, 2018, at Lauderdale Christian Nursing Home in Killen, Alabama. A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late William Sloan Mauldin and Maggie Moody Mauldin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Thelma Justice and brother, James “Jay” Mauldin.

Ann worked at Dayco for 32 years and 7 months (almost 33 years). She was a member of the Barberville Baptist Church. In 2016 at the age of 96 Ann was chosen Queen at Lauderdale Christian Nursing Home. She enjoyed her friends and family. She loved to travel and visit family in Alabama and Florida. Ann loved the beautiful mountains of Maggie Valley and Waynesville that were once her home. Even as her health declined she dreamed of her home and life in this area. As a young woman she, her sister and brother made up a trio that sang and played gospel music on Sundays at the Waynesville radio station WHCC.

Ann is survived by her three children, Edna Honeycutt Lacy (Chester), of Mobile, Alabama, Elaine Honeycutt White (Norman), of Saint Augustine, Florida and Terry Honeycutt (Marianna) of Killen, Alabama, six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 14, in the chapel of Garrett Funeral Home of Waynesville with the Reverend Kris Estep officiating. Interment will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 11:00 am prior to the service at the funeral home.

Serving as pallbearers will be Matt White, Forrest White, Jonathan Hill, Bradley Johnson, Justin Caldwell, and Tony McRee.

A message of comfort may be left for the family and an online guest registry may be signed at www.garrettfuneralsandcremations.com.

Elaine and family, I just opened the Mountaineer and saw your beautiful Mother.
She was always perfectly dressed and always the perfect lady with a wonderfully kind heart. I've often wondered where she was and how she was doing as well as wondering where Elaine was.
I'm sorry I cannot attend the service because I'm having surgery on Friday.

"We believe that Jesus died and rose again and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in Him." I Thess 4:14. "And so we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore encourage each other with these words." I Thes 4:17b-18.
I had text this to you yesterday but the Truth of this is worth repeating. My love toward you and family and prayers for you.
