Barbara Lee Miller Armor

Hendersonville-Barbara Miller Armor, 89, went to be with her Lord and Savior on February 11, 2017, at Givens Health Center. Barbara was born in Greensburg, PA, on August 1, 1927, to the late Howard S. and Leola Brockett Miller. She married Robert Edwin Armor, on August 25, 1950, and settled in Irwin, PA. Together they raised three loving children, Roberta, Larry, and Cindy. Throughout their retirement years they lived in Englewood, FL, Lake Gaston, NC, and Etowah, NC. Barbara was blessed with many wonderful friends wherever she lived. She enjoyed painting, boating, playing Bridge, and volunteer activities, including the Coast Guard Auxiliary. She attended Etowah Presbyterian Church while living in Hendersonville, NC. Prior to the Givens Health Center, Bob and Barbara resided in Ardenwoods Retirement Community where they sang in the chorus and enjoyed many social activities. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Robert (Bob) Armor; her daughters Roberta Miller and her husband, Robert, of Franklin, PA, and Cindy Armor Kirby, and her husband, Steve, of Virginia Beach, VA; a son, Larry Armor, and his wife Robin, of Arden, NC; her grandchildren, Amanda Hawks (Darren), Elizabeth Case (Joe), Marta Finch (Jason), and Ruslana Armor; and her great-grandchildren, Miller Hawks and Maren Hawks. A memorial service for friends and family is planned at 1:00 PM on Monday, February 13, at the Joan Pulliam Chapel on Givens Estates with Pastor Ed Hillman officiating. The Chapel is located on the second floor of the Asbury Commons Building at 100 Wesley Drive, Asheville, NC 28803. The family would like to offer a word of heartfelt thanks to Barbara’s caregivers at Four Seasons Hospice and Givens Health Center.
