Betty Jo Short Arost

Jo Arost 1932 – 2015 Jo Arost, 82 of Maggie Valley went to be with the Lord, April 9, 2015 surrounded by her family. She was born in Eagle Lake, FL on October 14, 1932 to the late Glenn and Ida Belle Short. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Waynesville. She was an avid tennis player, golfer, runner and volunteer in our community. Jo remained active until injuries sustained in an automobile accident on April 7, 2015 took her life. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, soul mate, and best friend, Ivin Arost. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Vicki (Alan) Brock, Lynne Anderson, Sandi (George) Varn, Terri Adams, Lori (Bob) Bluni, Cindy (Scott) Kapulskey, Hal Arost, and Aimee Arost; sisters, Joyce (Richard) Hart, Jenette (Paul) Noller, and Patsy (Bill) Cockcroft; fifteen grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren. At a later date the family and friends will gather in New Smyrna, Florida on Jo and Ivin’s favorite beach.
