Betty (Wyatt) Presnell

Betty Wyatt Presnell, 82, of Waynesville, NC, left her earthly home on September 24th, 2019. She was the daughter of the late Thomas Wyatt and Alice Dehart Wyatt. She was married for 56 years to her great love, the late Reverend Carl Presnell. She supported her husband in his pastorship at Allens Creek Baptist Church for 19 years. She then followed in support of his call to minister at Turkey Creek Baptist Church in Pisgah Forest, NC for 13 years. The couple returned home to Waynesville until retirement from East Waynesville Baptist Church.

She leaves behind a legacy of love and service to her heavenly father, her family, and her friends. Betty is survived by her children, daughters Sherry Harpe (Stephen), and Teresa Medford (Joe Don) both of Waynesville. Her three granddaughters, Stephanie Gold, Paige Harpe, and Lana Henderson (Stephan). Her three great-grandchildren, Kai Gold, Vanessa Henderson, and Hazel Henderson. She is also survived by her two sisters, Pauline Wyatt Mathis and Mildred Wyatt Burrell.

In addition to her parents and husband, Betty was predeceased in death by two brothers, Tommy and Charles Wyatt and sister Kathleen Wyatt Rich.

The family would like to gratefully acknowledge the loving care of our cherished matriarch by Jamie Putnam and Dwayne Evans of Homestead Hospice of Haywood.

In lieu of a service, the family will be receiving friends and family at the Presnell home.
