Beverly Anne Brown

Beverly, age 85, passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2026 in Sylva, North Carolina. A native of Central New York State, she was the adopted daughter of John and Ella Craner of Manlius, New York and sister to Jack Craner of the same family. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother.

She married Joseph Jankowsky of Avenel, New Jersey in 1959 and had 2 sons and a daughter. She is preceded in death by her son, Gregory (Jankowsky.) She is survived by her daughter, Lisa (Weber) of Cullowhee, NC and son David (Jankowsky) of Island Park, ID.

An avid horsewoman, Beverly ran a small business concern in Pompey, NY on a family horse property, training horses and riders with a passion for bringing therapeutic riding to those with disabilities. She was involved with various equestrian activities with her daughter and took great pride in being together with her, as well as her son, Gregory, during these special times. She was also an accomplished seamstress who fashioned bespoke riding wear for equestrian athletes on a custom basis.

Beverly divorced and remarried to Glenn Brown of Manlius, NY. She attained her college degree in 1991, at long last beginning her career in occupational therapy. She followed her never-ending spirit of adventure and relocated from Central New York to the west coast and lived for a time on a sailboat in the islands off Washington, finally settling near the coastal community of Morro Bay, California after Glenn passed, where she resided for more than 30 years. She also blossomed in her artistic pursuits, crafting jewelry there which she showed in galleries and taught her craft to others until 2023. Beverly enjoyed the companionship of her beloved papillons during her years in California.

Beverly relocated again to be near her daughter where she spent her final years. She left this earth peacefully nearby her daughter in a community within the majestic view of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
